About Me

👋 Hi, I'm Lech Iyoko!

An AI Engineer honing my expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision, with a future focus on Robotics after completing my master's degree. My goal is to develop AI-driven solutions that bridge technological gaps and create tangible, real-world impact.

My Journey into AI

Growing up in a developing country, I saw firsthand how limited access to technology impacted the quality of life. This fueled my decision to pursue a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics and Robotics, seeking ways to integrate automation into daily life. However, I soon realised that the true potential of AI extends far beyond simple automation. Today's most impactful tools are products of HUMAN INGENUITY, and I believe the primary purpose of AI should be to supplement and augment that intelligence. Helping us solve persistent problems and build more equitable societies.

Despite its potential, advanced AI remains inaccessible to many industries, limiting innovation. This gap is what inspires me to dive deep into AI, not just as a field of study, but as a means to drive real-world change.

🤖 Meo - Personalized AI Health Assistant

A production-ready, conversational AI system designed to provide users with personalized, evidence-based information about metabolic health. The project was built from the ground up with a modular, API-driven architecture.

🔬 Symptom-to-Condition Classifier

📌 Description:

Engineered an end-to-end machine learning pipeline to classify medical conditions from textual symptom descriptions. This project showcases a robust, data-centric approach, beginning with a critical pivot from a noisy, heuristically-labeled dataset to a high-quality public dataset, which improved model performance by over 40 F1 points. The final implementation uses a powerful hybrid model, combining Bio_ClinicalBERT for feature extraction with a LightGBM classifier.
